Waddenkust
The Wadden Coast of Northeast Friesland
The coastline in our region is entirely Wadden coast. It's a very special area that's essential for many animal species worldwide. This isn't the kind of coast you might expect; it's wilder, sometimes greener, and there's no room for a large beach towel. On the Wadden Coast, you experience nature in all its facets.
It's the perfect place to see salt marshes, walk on the seabed, and literally experience the connection between land and sea. In our magazine, we've provided some tips for exploring this area.
See what there is to experience outside the dikes or explore the Wadden area further. And while you're here: the Lauwersmeer has existed for over 50 years and has developed into a unique nature reserve. It's now a National Park and a Dark Sky Park!
